Finally found a new project four our fan group. This blog is about how to get started on Fuzz and a collection of useful tips for fans + musicians.
....even more important: It's a work in progress. All group members are very welcome to add more tips!

Let's start:

How do I make my profile pretty?
Answer: With BBCode you can do magic ;-) Or in other words:

BBCode is an abbreviation for Bulletin Board Code, the lightweight markup language used to format posts in many message boards. It is also called forum codes. The available tags are usually indicated by rectangular brackets surrounding a keyword, and they are parsed by the message board system before being translated into a markup language that web browsers understand, usually HTML or

XHTML.

If you go to your dashboard and click on the blog tab a new window opens - here you will find a link to the formatting Guide, that tells you a.):

How can I embed media on my blog/ profile?

Great that you asked - well what can I say? - Just one word: BBCode:

I still don't understand how this works - Could you please explain me again?

Sure! Don't worry you are not the first one (and probably not the last one) Be a bit patient - I just have to find the places where I explained some other people - do the copy and paste - I will be right back! Promise!!!

How to embed an youtube video:

You need the video ID (that can be found at the end of the video url)
This is the url of "The Windowframe": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og4ygN45qL0
and the red marked part is the video ID: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og4ygN45qL0

Then use the BBCode:
(youtube)Og4ygN45qL0(/youtube) ....well replace the (...) with [...] - you know :-))

Once you replaced the round brackets with [] - the video will appear - on comments, blogs or your profile page!

How to embed mp3s:

1. first you go to SkreemR or The Hype Machine (and alike) and look for the artist/song name:
For example Sylvie Vartan:

http://skreemr.com/results.jsp?q=Sylvie+Vartan&search=SkreemR+Search

2. If you are lucky there gonna be some finds ;-) Click on the "file" button and a new window will open with the mp3

3. Copy the url of that mp3:

http://www.tous-arts.net/chansons/08-SYL~1.MP3 (Qu'est Ce Qui Fait Pleurer Les Blondes)

4. add BBCode:
it's (mp3) url of mp3(/mp3)...replace the round ( ) with square brackets [ ]

5. the miniplayer will appear:

It's too much work to type all the BBCode tags - Is there an easier way?

Yes there is. As long as you use Firefox! SomeVapourTrails already explained it here: BBCode for Dummies

*Note: Some BBCode tags don't work for fuzz such as smilies + resize of fonts. Some fuzz tags are missing but can be added manual to the add on. Go to settings/preferences and add:
Just to entertain you - there's a typo in the pic - find it and laugh - don't reproduce it:

How do I create a playlist?

1. Go to site of an artist you like.
2. Take a look at the music player - there you will find the "add button" - press it (if the song is to your approval)

3. Go to your dashboard and click on the music library tab:

4. Now you are at your music library dash board. Click on "create" and start your first playlist :-)

Is there a fuzz search tool for keywords?

Yeah - there is a fabulous tool created by Jevs. The Google Custom Search Engine that returns results only from fuzz.com and allows to click for additional keywords, such as 'mixtape'.

DifferentStars
Hey my dear fabulous fellows - I loved our group to create something....
Here is my idea: Every member could adopt one ore two genres and create a playlist for each. This could be a great pathfinder for other users of Fuzz.

Like most of you know me (DifferentStars) is a fan of Dream Pop/Shoegaze and Britrock. But there are so many other genres like:
Electronica,
Postrock,
Hip-Hop,
Americana,
Retropop,
Ambient,
Metal,
Punk,
Garage Rock,.....................................
I am a bit too lazy to name all.
Just use this blog as a forum.

We welcome all Fuzzies that are non - musicians to join our group and become a member. Feel free to post here if you want to become a member too.

Meanwhile here is a mixtape created by Jevs:

Hi there, here are links to playlists and mixtapes created by members of our non-musicians supergroup:

As he is some kind of informal Fuzz figurehead he can for neutrality reasons not be a member of Almost Fabulous, but he could be considered an honorary member, so let's include TCC's music compilations here too:
